Begging

I have been at this blogging thing for years and I take care of 3 others besides this one. I have now started three that I had hopes other people would assist with by adding their input. It isn't happening. It is not at all difficult to do and I have sent many invitations to start. I sent out more this AM. This blog might falter after August unless some of you jump in and tell us what is happening on your branch of the family tree.
You are not obliged to add pictures- a short note is sufficient. You can also ask questions of others you might be curious about and perhaps someone will be able to satisfy your curiosity.
So give it a whirl and find out it is much easier than you think. And it will take some pressure off of me!

South Texas Brookers

Marlene and Bernard are even further south. Currently they are on a cruise to the Panama Canal. Bill and Jo have youngest son Mark here for the weekend. He flew in from Houston and we all went to Pepe's on the River for an afternoon of refreshment and music. I have been working on the park directory and Butch has most likely been wishing he could play golf.

Pie, Pie, I like Pie

Marlene Brooker Kelley, pie baker extraordinaire, baked us a lemon meringue pie last Sunday. Her pies are always perfectly wonderful. I was half way through with the last piece when I had the thought that it was so perfect and pretty too that I should at least have a picture for posterity. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Thanks Marlene!!

William Homer Brooker

William Homer Brooker passed on January 3rd, 2009. He certainly was a handsome fellow.

Invitations

Invitations have been sent for the family reunion and a nice number have already responded that they are coming.
Invitations have also been sent to a few people to contribute to this blog. Anyone else wanting permission to submit posts here has only to ask. Family stories, pictures, latest family news both happy and sad, anything at all you would like to share is welcome. I think this site could be a way for all of us to connect. I know there are people I have met through the internet and then when meeting them in person already feel as though we know each other. So do not be shy let's see some posts.
