Wanted to let you know Brittany had baby Tucker August 27th. He is perfect, and I am very excited to be a Grandma. He weighed 8.1 pounds and was 19 3/4" long.
Barb O’Roake’s daughter Angie had a new baby girl on Wednesday, June 2, 2010….
Her name is Addison Elaine…. She was a little early…. But everyone is doing fine….. She was 5 lbs, 14 oz and 19 inches long….
Norm, Brenda, Mark, Bill, Jo are all getting together this weekend for a memorial golf outing in Newton for a classmate of Norm’s that died of a heart attack…
They will be staying at Barb’s house starting on Friday evening…
It has become Brutally Aparent how soft I have become in my old age... the chore of taking two trees down yesterday really kicked my butt... take a look at B & B's Blog to see photos of the our two beautiful front trees taking the plunge...
Both trees were soon to bite the bullet in one fashion or another, so Keri & I decided it should be on our terms and not Mother Nature's so we could control the fall and timing of the death of our front landscaping...
I need some advice of what type of tree would be good to put at the Southwest corner of our house north of Jefferson, IA... It would be good to have a decorative one that doesn't get too tall.... say 12' max.... with a limiting diameter of not more than 8 to 10' ...
I received word on Sunday that Blaze & Suz's daughter Sandy and her husband Andrew had a beautiful Baby Boy on April 6th, 2010 that weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz.
Lets welcome the newest member to our family into this world in proper fashion... I haven't decided what that should be as of this time; but in the meantime, send all cards and letters to Andrew & Sandy Greco @ 4030 37th Ave SW, Unit F, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
Susan and I had a good trip over spring break into the Colorado Mountains. I've twice gone to Ski Cooper and have had a very good day there both times. This last time was in the middle of a snow storm. Susan and I did their snowshoe trail through the woods. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to be during a snow storm. We got to see their fanciful dining place out in the middle of woods up close and personal. http://www.tennesseepass.com/cookhouse.htm
We had an opportunity to eat there and probably should have taken them up on it. We definitely plan to go back and take them up on it next time.
I spent two days skiing at Breckenridge on beautiful sunny 35 degree days. I was thinking about why Jason and Butch might list it as one of their worst places to go when I and MANY others list it as one of their best. I'd put it in the top 3 of the 21 places I've skied in my lifetime. A main reason I'd heard Butch and Jason list why they did not like it was due to a LOT of poling around to get places. I've not had to pole much if any during my visits. I know one of Butch's favorite places to ski is the blue runs above the Super Bee lift at Copper Mountain. If this is true he should LOVE Peak 7 at Breckenridge. It has 3 times the amount of blue runs EXACTLY like Copper's blue runs going to a fast non-crowded chair lift. There are 3 improvements at Breckenridge that were not there when Jason and Butch visited. One was the aforementioned Peak 7. The other 2 are a Gondola that goes from the parking lot to Peak 7 and Peak 8. The other is a fast connection
chair from Peak 9 to Peak 8.
I really want to find a way to take Jason and Butch back to Breckenridge someday. Jason may be a little bored with a lack of Black runs and tree runs but there is a ton of Blue and Blue-Black groomed runs. Enough to get a full and tired day.
